Privacy Policy

MyVSP ("MyVSP", "we", "us") provides a vehicle service-history app that lets you keep a permanent, VIN-keyed record of your vehicle and, if you choose, share a report of it. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what choices you have. It applies to the MyVSP iOS app, Android app, and website.

The short version: we collect only what the app needs to keep your vehicle records and sign you in. Your data is protected by row-level security so only you can read your own records. We never sell your data, and we don't use third-party advertising or tracking.

Information we collect

Account details — your email address and password (used to sign you in), and optionally your name.
Profile details — optional information you enter, such as your typical weekly driving distance, used to forecast upcoming services.
Vehicle details — the vehicle information you add: VIN, registration (number plate), make, model, year, and odometer readings.
Service records — service events, schedules, cost estimates, and recall matches associated with your vehicle.

We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for tracking, and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

How we use your information

To create and secure your account and sign you in.
To store and display your vehicle records and service history.
To forecast upcoming services from your odometer readings and driving rate.
To generate a shareable public report only when you explicitly create a share link for a vehicle.

How your data is stored and protected

Your data is stored in our Supabase (PostgreSQL) database hosted in Sydney, Australia (ap-southeast-2). Every table is protected by Row Level Security, which enforces that you can only read and write your own records. Access requires an authenticated session tied to your account.

Sharing your information

Public reports you create. If you generate a share link for a vehicle, anyone with that link can view the report it points to. You control whether such a link exists.
Service providers. We use Supabase as our database and authentication provider (a data processor acting on our behalf). We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Legal. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

We keep your account and vehicle records for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your rights" below), after which we remove it from our active systems.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information from within the app, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example, under the Australian Privacy Act), you may have additional rights to access and correct your personal information.

Children

MyVSP is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above when we do.
